Are you looking for a fun manifestation technique to help you manifest your goals and dreams in 2024? If so, a vision board is a great way to do just that!

A vision board is simply a visual representation of your goals and dreams, and it can help you stay focused and motivated throughout the year.

To create a vision board, you’ll need to gather inspiration, choose the right materials, and start putting your vision together. You can use images, quotes, and affirmations to create a powerful visual representation of your goals and aspirations.

Once your vision board is complete, you can use it to stay motivated and focused on your goals throughout the year. In this article, I’ll guide you through the process of creating a vision board for 2024, and show you how to use it effectively to achieve your goals.

Do Vision Boards Actually Work?

Let me start by saying that I’m not writing this to convince you that vision boards work.

I know they do because I’ve experienced the powerful result of using vision boards, manifestation journals and other manifesting techniques to manifest my own dreams.

Visualization is a powerful tool. There’s a science behind how and why it works. It’s not make-believe, and I’m most certainly not trying to sell you a fantasy.

But again, my job is not to convince you THAT it works. I’m simply here to share with you HOW to create a vision board and hopefully inpire you to believe in the power of your own thoughts and intentions to manifest both the small and big dreams that you have.

Benefits of a Vision Board

Before we dive deep into creating your vision board, there are many benefits you should know about. Here are just a few:

  • Increased Motivation: When you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve, it can be easier to stay motivated and focused on your goals.
  • Improved Clarity: By clarifying your goals and aspirations, you can gain a deeper understanding of what you truly want in life.
  • Enhanced Creativity: Creating a vision board can be a fun and creative process that allows you to tap into your imagination and intuition.

Overall, creating a vision board can be a powerful tool for achieving your goals and aspirations. By visualizing your ideal life and focusing your energy and attention on what you want to achieve, you can create a clear path towards your goals and manifest the life you truly desire.

What Should You Put On Your Vision Board?

The problem that many people run into when they make a vision board is that they focus on the actual goal rather than the result.

Imagine you have a goal of buying a new car. You could express that by simply writing “New Car” on a poster board. But so what? The phrase itself is unlikely to evoke feelings of joy or anticipation. In fact, the more you see that word, the less meaning it might have.

Imagine instead, a photo of sparkling SUV instead. Imagine yourself driving home from work in your brand new SUV. Your windows are down and your sunroof is open. You’re playing your favorite song on the radio and singing your heart out like you’re on an episode of Celebrity Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.

When you look at the picture, it doesn’t just say “New Car.” That image instantly transports you there and immerses you in the moment. It’s a feeling. Not a goal.

When you create your vision board, regardless of which of life’s aspects you’re focusing on, be sure to look for images and words that make you FEEL the way you imagine you’ll feel when you achieve your goal.

It’s not about what you want to have. It’s about how you want to feel. Here’s a picture of one of my vision boards from a few years ago.

Vision Board Example by Gorgeous Mindset
My 2020 Vision Board

The above example was the first time I created a vision board without listing any quantitative desires like a specific monetary goal or specific weight loss goal.

I created this vision board before the complete upheaval that followed the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.  Because of the lockdown, I ended up spending a most of my time at home with my husband and kids. My vision board goals truly became my reality.

I cooked more that year than I have ever cooked in my life! I made huge changes in my business and career. We saved a ton of money that we would have normally splurged on family vacations, date nights, and random entertainment.

Although it was a crazy year full of many unknowns, I’m still grateful for all of the good feelings that were manifested in 2020.

For my 2022 vision board, I once again focused on how I wanted to feel, but I also decided to add a few quantitative goals that I desired to reach throughout the year.

If there is anything I learned from 2020, it’s that life is to precious to only focus on material things. Use your vision board to find more joy and more happiness in those intangible things that no amount of money can buy!

For my 2023 vision board, you guessed it…I focused on power words that remind me once again of how I want to feel this year. As I created my vision board, I was more focused on a visual aid that can boost my mindset and keep me inspired.

Gathering Inspiration for Your Vision Board

Before you start creating your board, it’s essential to gather inspiration and materials that will help you achieve your objectives. Here are two critical steps to help you gather inspiration.

Identifying Personal Goals

The first step in gathering inspiration for your vision board is to identify your personal goals. Consider what you want to achieve in 2024 and what areas of your life you would like to improve.

It could be anything from your a better career, increase in finances, better health, happier relationships, more travel or simply personal growth. Write down your goals and be specific about what you want to achieve. Here are some examples:

Career and Business Goals

Career and business goals are probably a common topic of vision boards and with good reason. Chances are you started your career or your business with the goal of creating a better life for you and your family. It’s likely one of your driving motivations, so it’s natural to seek out tools that will help you achieve the outcomes you desire.

When you’re creating a vision board with a focus on your career or business, consider the following questions:

  • How would you want your typical workday to look?
  • What clients do you want to work with?
  • What projects do you love?
  • How would your office space look?
  • Who would make the best type of coworkers?
  • Who would make a great mentor?

Look for images and other items that represent your ideal career, your perfect client, and your ultimate dream job.

Financial Goals

Personal finance is another favorite topic for vision boards. Do you have big financial milestones that you want to reach?

A vision board can help. Start by asking yourself…

  • What does financial freedom mean to me?
  • How can I change the world if I earn more money?
  • What charities will I support when I receive my influx of money?

Then find the images that represent the feeling of fulfillment and joy you’ll have as you’re able to achieve these goals and more. Maybe that’s a photo of the charity you want to support. Or maybe it’s just a big pile of money so you can retire young and live on a yacht. It’s your dream, and it can be anything you want it to be.

Health and Wellness Goals

How’s your health? If you’re like me, you probably spend far too much time inside, sitting down, staring at a computer screen. We get so busy and overwhelmed with life that we end up not…

  • Exercising enough
  • Getting enough sleep
  • Eating right or drinking enough water

A vision board can help in this aspect of life by making it clear how much better you will FEEL (there’s that word again) when you do eat healthy, work out, get more rest, and are hydrated.

Fill your vision board with images of healthy activities you want to try like yoga or a barre class. Add images of the spa day you want to take and food images of the healthy meals you want to start preparing.

Relationship Goals

You probably don’t think of vision boards as being helpful with building relationships, but that might be because we don’t put enough emphasis on setting goals to improve them.

Carving out a little section for family and friends on your vision board just might change all that.

Think about…

  • What kind of relationships do you want to have?
  • What’s most important to you as a wife? Mother? Daughter? Friend?
  • How do you want your spouse to feel when he/she sees you?
  • How do you want your kids to feel when they’re teenagers?

Fill your 2024 vision board with items that represent the best relationships you can imagine, and soon enough, you’ll begin creating those bonds in your own life.

What Vision Board Supplies Do You Need?

Once you have identified your goals, the next step is to gather visual materials that will help you achieve them.

These materials could be anything from magazines, newspapers, photographs, postcards, or even quotes that inspire you. Look for images that represent your goals and aspirations and cut them out. You could also print out inspiring quotes or create your own affirmations that you can include on your vision board.

For my vision board supplies, I typically use:

There are several options available, including physical poster boards, corkboards, and electronic devices. If you prefer a traditional approach, you can create a physical vision board using craft materials and images from magazines. If you prefer a digital approach, you can use online tools or apps to create a digital vision board.

Creating Your Vision Board

After you’ve gathered all your inspiration, it’s time to get started with your vision board! Here are a few things you should keep in mind to ensure that your board is effective and helps you achieve your goals:

Arranging Visual Elements

I find that arranging my visual elements before I permanently place them on my vision board is helpful. After browsing old magazines and journals looking for images and words that really resonate with me, I cut them out and organize them loosely on my board in a layout that is meaningful to me.

Sometimes I rearrange my board 4 or 5 times before I’m happy with my overall structure. Only then do I glue each piece to my vision board.

Consider grouping your visual elements by theme or category to make it easier to see how they relate to each other. You can also use color-coding or other visual cues to help you stay organized and focused.

Adding Inspirational Text

In addition to visual elements, you can also add inspirational text to your vision board. This can include quotes, affirmations, and other motivational messages that inspire you to work towards your goals.

Make sure the text is easy to read and stands out from the visual elements. You can also use different fonts and colors to make it more visually appealing. Grab these free Vision Board Printables from my friends at Limelife Planners!

Maintaining and Updating Your Vision Board

Once you have created your 2024 vision board, you really should try to revisit it and update it throughout the year. This will help you stay focused on your goals and make progress towards achieving them.

Here are a few tips for maintaining and updating your vision board:

Review and Reflect

Ask yourself if you are on track to achieve your goals or if you need to make any adjustments. Reflect on what has worked well for you and what you can improve on. This will help you stay motivated and make any necessary changes to your goals or action plans.

Evolving with Your Goals

Your goals and priorities may change throughout the year, and it is important to update your vision board accordingly. If you achieve a goal, replace it with a new one. If you find that a goal is no longer important to you, remove it from your vision board. Your vision board should evolve with your goals and priorities to ensure that it remains relevant and motivating.

Consider adding new images or quotes that inspire you or remind you of your goals. You can also use stickers, markers, or other decorations to update your vision board and make it more visually appealing. Remember, your vision board should be a reflection of your aspirations and should inspire you to take action towards achieving your goals.

By following these tips, you can ensure that your 2024 vision board is always serving its purpose: keeping you motivated and focused on your goals!

  1. I absolutely love the content of this blog! Today, after years of wanting to, I began the process of creating my vision board. I found your blog when I realized my inspiration was not wanting for material items, and knowing I can manifest those things if I get to the root of what has held me back the past 41 years of my life in this planet. I have one question for ya if you don’t mind. Where do you keep your vision board? I haven’t decided on what media to use, cork board, poster board, scrap booking, event thought a calendar. Word love your thoughts. Thanks so much!

    • Hi Jamie! I actually keep my vision board near me in my office space at home so I am able to look at it often. I find that being able to have it in my line of view encourages me to check in with myself and my goal progress more frequently. I would love to know what kind of vision board you ended up creating!
