Ready to Create a Self-Love Habit?

I can vividly remember a time when I believed there was no way on God’s green Earth that I had time to practice self-love or self-care.

Yeah, maybe when I was in my early 20s, single, and child-free I had more time to work on me. Back then, I pampered myself with massages, relaxed and read books on the weekend, and did social things like brunch with girlfriends or ladies night out.

Bu then, real adulting hit me. Somewhere between getting married and having kids, the concept of taking care of myself became more of a myth. Self-love became a luxury rather than a necessity in my life–and I suffered.

As women, we are often so busy pouring our energy and love into other people–our spouses, our children, our family members, our friends, our pets and even our co-workers–that by the time we get to ourselves there is NOTHING LEFT TO POUR.

And you know damn good and well that you CAN’T POUR OR DRINK FROM AN EMPTY CUP!

Self-love isn’t something that can be achieved overnight; it takes time and effort. But, with the right tools and dedication, you can make it happen. This blog post will give you an easy step-by-step plan for creating a self-love habit in 28 days. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Acknowledge What You Love about Yourself

The first step towards cultivating your self-love is to acknowledge what you already love about yourself. This can include physical features, like your hair or skin, as well as personality traits, like your sense of humor or intelligence.

Write down at least 10 things that you love about yourself and hang the list up somewhere where you’ll see it every day such as on your bathroom mirror or refrigerator door. This way, every morning when you wake up and before going to bed each night, you can remind yourself of all the wonderful things that make you who you are.

Step 2: Make Time for Yourself Everyday

The next step is to make sure that you are taking time out of each day for yourself. This could mean anything from meditating for 5 minutes each morning or going for a walk during lunchtime. Making this time a priority will help ensure that no matter how busy life gets, you always have some time dedicated to self-care and reflection.

Taking this time out also allows us to check in with ourselves and focus on our own needs without feeling guilty about it!

Step 3: Practice Positive Self Talk

One of the most important steps in creating a self-love habit is changing our internal dialogue from negative to positive. We often find ourselves saying things like “I’m so stupid” or “I’ll never be good enough” but these thoughts only serve to tear us down rather than build us up!

Instead of engaging in these negative conversations with ourselves, we should try replacing them with more positive mantras such as “I am capable” or “I am enough” instead. It may take some practice but eventually these positive affirmations will become second nature!

How to Practice Self-Love and Make it a Habit

Making time for self-love is, in fact, a necessity. It’s not a luxury. It’s not something that’s nice to have if you can swing it.

No, it’s something that should be a part of our everyday routine. Point blank.

It’s time to learn how to create a self-love habit and take care of yourself first–and without feeling guilty about it. It’s not selfish to do what’s best for you. You deserve to refill your cup.

It’s for this exact reason that we created Mastering the Mindset of Self-Love: A 28-Day Self-Love Journal. It’s for women like us who have poured and poured into others, without also taking care of yourselves.

You’ll have an expanded awareness of the unhealthy habits that are blocking your happiness and a deeper perspective on how to create a better relationship with the one person who has supreme power over your life–YOU!

There is power in the written word and writing can be very therapeutic. This is why this particular self-love experience takes the form of a physical journal. We want you to explore your feelings and document how you feel along the way.
