I am the first to admit that the moment life starts getting too routine, too mundane, too HUM-DRUM (if that’s a word), I have a mental freak out.

To be honest, the last thing that I ever want to be is ordinary. Maybe simply being ordinary is good enough for some people…and believe me, I’m not knocking it at all because to each their own.

Sometimes you have to gain the confidence to live a remarkable life, as this post from author Tony Fahkry so beautifully suggests.

In a world filled with routines and obligations, it is incredibly easy to fall into a rhythm of mediocrity—a life lived on autopilot, devoid of passion and purpose. But deep within ourselves lies an innate desire to live a remarkable life and to leave a mark of existence.

In my 40+ years of living, I’ve found that most people I meet yearn for moments of exhilaration, for accomplishments that ignite our souls, and for experiences that push the boundaries of what we thought possible.

So, how can you break free from the ordinary and embark on a journey that truly resonates with your deepest aspirations?

In the post below, we’ll uncover 11 simple steps that can help you elevate your existence and manifest a life that truly allows you to make an impact.

11 Ways to Live a Remarkable Life

Be a voice for those who don’t have one.

Find a cause or an issue that tugs at your heartstrings and get involved. Step up, ask questions, take a stand, speak out against injustice. Some people are afraid to speak up or speak out. Being remarkable gives you this superpower.

Seek out new opportunities for growth.

Don’t stay trapped in your comfort zone. Venture outside of the walls you have already conquered. Dare to learn something new. Be adventurous.

Learn to empathize…not just sympathize.

There is a fundamental difference between empathy and sympathy. Brene Brown’s super short cartoon short does a ridiculously awesome job at caricaturing the difference. Take 3 minutes and watch!

Be a doer.

Don’t get so caught up in the planning details that you forget to actually implement. Nothing will ever be perfect. Sometimes you just have to take a leap and grow your wings on the way down.

Be willing to admit you are wrong.

No matter how awesome you think you are, there will be times when the words you say and the actions you take are flat out wrong. Own up to those mistakes. Learn from them.

Give others praise and accolades.

You can’t always be the star. Sometimes you need to play the role of cheerleader. Give others an opportunity to shine, and let them know just how happy you are for them and their accomplishments.

Be willing to ask for help and also give it.

No man is an island (we’ve all heard this saying a million times.) But, it’s true. We are not omniscient, all-knowing beings. We each have core strengths…and subsequently weaknesses. Tap into the knowledge of others by actually asking for their help. If they know how to do something better than you, say just that and ask if they can teach you. Remarkable people are life-long learners. By the same token, you must also be willing to share your knowledge with others as well. Reciprocity baby…reciprocity.

Be consistent.

I’ll admit…my actions and behaviors in the past have been pretty erratic at times. But one thing I have learned is that finding consistency in your processes and behavior will result in far more wins than simply jumping around from one project, book, city, relationship to the next.

Be authentically you.

Sooner or later, you must learn to embrace who it is you are. To live your life shifting and molding and shaping yourself for other people only causes one person to suffer…you. Don’t be afraid to show your true colors. Embrace who you are. Be authentic and genuine in all your words and actions. This makes you remarkable.

Focus on what you can do for others, not what others can do for you.

Remarkable people don’t have ulterior motives for helping others. Help others without asking for anything in return, and furthermore without expecting anything in return.

Listen better (and more frequently) than you speak.

Remarkable people don’t need to always be the star of the show. While it is important to speak up and speak out at times, it’s equally as important to know when to ask questions, sit back and just LISTEN.

Next Steps for Living a More Remarkable Life

Living a remarkable life requires great courage, resilience, and an unwavering belief in your own potential. It’s about embracing vulnerability, cultivating a sense of gratitude, finding beauty in the midst of challenges, and designing a life that reflects your deepest passions and values.

For your remarkable life, dare to dream beyond the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary that awaits you. Only then will you be able to unleash your full power and live a life you truly love.

  1. Consistency is key! I also get bored if life is too routine so I jump from thing to thing A LOT, which means I’m always coming back to the same thing over and over again. I think you’re right, commitment and consistency will make breakthroughs happen.
